Homes for Sale in Medford

Medford Real Estate & Real Estate Homes for Sale in Oregon

The mighty Rogue River is 215 miles long and flows from its origin deep in the heart of Crater Lake National Park all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Over the years, the river has formed the scenic Rogue River Valley, framed by a breathtaking landscape of mountains, lowland ranches, lush orchards and vineyards. Within the valley lies the city of Medford, home to nearly 74,000 residents. Located approximately halfway between Portland and San Francisco, Medford boasts four beautiful, clearly defined seasons and a mild climate and an annual rainfall totals generally similar to Southern California. The city is surrounded by miles of pear orchards and offers spectacular views of snowcapped Mt. McLoughlin.

From its humble beginnings as a train depot, Medford has developed into a metropolitan hub. The town is the county seat of Jackson County, as well as the industrial and medical center of southern Oregon and northern California. Forbes magazine has recognized the Medford area as the second best small place in the country to pursue a career in business.

Recreational opportunities aplenty can be found on the Bear Creek Greenway, which meanders through Medford and connects to neighboring cities. The Greenway is spread out over 600 acres of pristine landscape and offers bike and nature trails for active outdoor enthusiasts. An evening out in Medford may include a gala performance at Southern Oregon's Center for the Performing Arts. The theater hosts entertainment ranging from circuses to symphonies to country music performers.
